ONE of the most famous ‘families’ in Lyme Regis is celebrating a new addition.
The popular feature on the Cobb – of the family of dogs created from worn-out lifeboat wellies – has welcomed a new puppy to the crew.
The canine family was created out of old wellies by long serving RNLI crew member Garry Gibbs. The latest arrival joins the rest of the brood outside the RNLI shop on the Cobb.
Shop manager Krys Lavery said: “Garry has done some lovely work for us. He has taken the other puppy away for special grooming so eventually we may have four welly dogs on duty.
“They are incredibly popular with visitors to the shop who are always taking photographs of them.”
A competition to name the welly dog family will be held during this year's Lifeboat Week - planned to take place at the end of this month.
