Dorset beauty spot Durdle Door has been named among the most ‘beautiful’ beaches in the country.
A study by Money.co.uk aimed to find out the most beautiful beaches around the UK that holidaymakers can look forward to visiting this summer.
The research involved analysing over 26 million Instagram hashtags associated with the world’s most popular beaches and calculating how many Instagram posts have been posted of that beach compared to its length.
The beaches with the most Instagram posts per metre were then ranked to create a list of the most picturesque beaches in the world and the UK.

Their research ranked Durdle Door near Lulworth third overall, with 232 pictures per metre. The scenic beauty spot was beaten to the top two spots by Margate beach in Kent and Tenby North Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
With its famous stone arch, tourists flock to the beach throughout the year to enjoy its scenic views, coastal walks or a paddle in the sea.
Reviewers appear to be huge fans of the coastal spot on Tripadvisor, with a four-and-a-half rating based on more than 4,000 reviews.
