A NEW housing development in North Dorset is on track to officially launch later this year.
Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties’ new Gillingham Lakes development is on track for an official launch in September 2021 and the homebuilder is advising early online registration in order to be one of the first to secure a space.
Located off Addison Close, the upcoming development will consist of a range of two-to four-bedroom homes in a number of styles and provide buying opportunities for anyone looking to get onto the property ladder.
Phase one has detailed planning permission for 90 homes with 20 per cent of these allocated for affordable housing.
Gillingham Lakes will also feature large areas of public open space adjoining the River Lodden and a public footpath for easier access to one of the local primary schools, St Mary’s.
The homes have been designed to sit in-keeping with the local surroundings, featuring simple detail with stone windowsills, tile or slate roofs and a selection of homes with weatherboarding.
The streets have been planned so that cars don’t exceed 20mph and there will be a number of play parks for all ages.
Roz Wells, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “We’re looking forward to the launch of Gillingham Lakes and we are on track for a September opening.
"September is a great time to buy as it’s very likely the sales process will be complete to enjoy Christmas in a brand-new home.
“As with all our developments, our aim is to create a place people are proud to call home and we are sure people will really enjoy living in such a beautiful place for years to come.”
