A FAMILY had their car seized while on holiday in Dorset.
The Dorset Police No Excuse Team stopped a family in a black Vauxhall yesterday and found that the car had not been taxed since November. Police seized the car and the driver has been reported to the DVLA.
A spokesman said: "We were asked to assist traffic out in the west of the county. We stopped the black Vauxhall with a family on holiday from Scotland. No tax since November last year. Vehicle seized and driver reported to the DVLA."
The Dorset Police No Excuse team supports the force’s priority to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on Dorset’s roads. The message going out is that there is ‘no excuse’ for bad or careless driving and riding on Dorset’s roads.
The no excuse campaign aims to stop drivers from committing any of the 'fatal four': speeding, driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failing to wear a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone or being distracted.
