A PERSON has been rushed to hospital after they injured their ankle while onboard a boat.
Coastguard officers were called to Lyme Regis harbour at 2.51 yesterday afternoon after receiving reports of a person who had been injured while on a boat.
Lyme Regis Lifeboat and paramedics were also called to the scene, where a person had suffered an ankle injury.
A spokesman for Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Team said: "Lyme Regis Coastguard was tasked along with Lyme Regis Lifeboat and the southwest ambulance team to a person with an ankle injury onboard a visiting boat on the pontoons at Lyme harbour.
"On arrival the casualty had sustained a ankle injury. Coastguards and lifeboat crew gave the casualty care until the arrival of the paramedics.
"Once the casualty had been checked, over they were carefully packaged up onto our stretcher for the short carry over the pontoons where further assessments were carried out. Once assessed the casualty was taken to hospital by a family member for further assessment. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
"For emergencies on the sea, cliff, river, mud, harbour and beach, call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
