FIRE crews across Dorset are alerting the public to an increase of online and telephone scams during the coronavirus pandemic.
The increase of online and phone scams are being linked to fraudsters taking advantage of vulnerable people and pretending to be members of staff from the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Rescue Service (DWFRS).
Crews across the county are now pleading to the public to report any suspicious emails, messages or phone calls to Dorset Police.
A spokesman from DWFRS said: "Since the Covid-19 pandemic we are aware of an increase in online and telephone scams.
"If anyone contacts you saying that are from our service asking for personal information, please hang up and report this to the police on 101.
"If we contact you, we will never ask for personal information."
