A POLISH driver has been stopped by police for driving 'erratically' because he was angry Poland had been eliminated from Euro 2020.
At around 7pm yesterday evening, police stopped a BMW driver for driving erratically in Bournemouth.
When they questioned the driver he apologised for his actions, blaming Poland's exit from Euro 2020 for his bad driving.
A spokesman for Dorset Police No Excuse Team said: "While in the area of Old Christchurch road, Bournemouth last night at approximately 7pm, we witnessed the BMW below wheel spin out of Stafford Road onto Old Christchurch Road and continue to drive erratically through the town at a busy time.
"The vehicle took a right onto Dean Park Crescent, again wheel spinning and sliding round the corner . The vehicle was out of control in our opinion.
"When stopped, the Polish driver wrapped up in a Polish flag and face paints was sorry for his actions, stating “I’m angry because Poland are out of the euros”.
"The driver was issued with a ticket for driving without due care and attention along with a section 59 notice for anti social driving. If he’s caught doing that again his vehicle can be seized."
