TWO more Dorset schools have confirmed coronavirus cases.

The Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis and St James' Church of England First School in Wimborne have both confirmed a single case of coronavirus.

As reported, Bovington Academy confirmed more than one case of Covid-19 on Sunday.

Headteacher of The Woodroffe School Daniel Watts said: "We have had one confirmed case of coronavirus which was a pupil so that pupil as well as one member of staff are both isolating.

"It has not had an impact on the school at all which is great. Every step of the way we have been guided by Public Health Dorset and our school community have been very good at following the instructions."

Sam Crowe, Director of Public Health for Dorset and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole councils said: "We are aware that a number of schools in Dorset have received confirmed cases of Covid-19. These schools are working closely with Public Health Dorset, Dorset Council and Public Health England South West to ensure that all necessary measures are being met.

"All close contacts of the confirmed cases have been notified and need to self-isolate for 10 days. Contacts of the confirmed cases should get tested if they go on to develop symptoms. Even if people test negative, they must still self-isolate for 10 days."
