A TEENAGER has been rescued after they got stuck on Durdle Door cliffs, prompting a warning from firefighters.
Firefighters, police and the coastguard were called out at 1.30pm this afternoon to rescue a 14-year-old boy from the top of Durdle Door cliffs.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 1.27pm raising concern for the welfare of a teenage boy stuck on the cliff above the beach at Durdle Door in Purbeck.
"Officers attended, along with the ambulance and fire services, as well as HM Coastguard and the teenager was taken to safety at around 2.20pm."
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Bere Regis Fire Station along with tech rescue teams from Poole Fire Station and Weymouth Fire Station as well as an aerial ladder platform, have been working hand in hand with the Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team this afternoon to rescue a teenager from the top of Durdle Door cliffs.
"It’s half-term and the weather has been beautiful, so we know many of you will be wanting to spend it in some of the beauty spots we’re so lucky to be local to, but please don’t climb the rocks or cliff edges in these areas.
"This incident, and many others like it, tie up so many of our resources. Stay safe everyone."
