Artists from the area are exhibiting their work in an exciting collaboration as part of Dorset Art Weeks.

Artwey (a Community Interest Company of professional and amateur artists from Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester) has an exhibition at the Nothe Fort in Weymouth continuing until Monday, May 31.

Nothe Fort is the 2021 Gold Medal winner of the South West Tourism Awards, Small Visitor Attraction of the Year and 24 Artwey Artists are holding a large “in-person” exhibition within the historic walls. Olivia Nurrish, director of Artwey, said: “A large, beautifully styled, marquee will hold an extravaganza of artworks including paintings, printing, textiles, ceramics, stone carving and more.

"There will be lots of cards and prints available too. All steps to provide a Covid safe environment have been taken. Why not treat yourself to a safe and nice day out at last with some great art to look at and purchase?”

The exhibition, which is Venue 288 in the DAW brochure, began on Saturday, May 22 and runs to and including Monday, May 31 from 11am to 4pm (last admission 3.30pm), daily. The Nothe Fort admission charge includes entry to the exhibition and there are lots of discounts and concessions available. Booking isn’t necessary.

Don’t want to go out yet? Artwey also have two groups exhibiting online. Taking their names from the venues where they would normally exhibit, the Weymouth Old Town Hall Group (DAW Venue No 180) and the Portland Heights Group (DAW Venue 161) consist of 25 artists with individual virtual galleries showing their works, which are also for sale.

You can find out more about the in-person exhibition and see the works in the online galleries at www.artwey.co.uk/dorsetartweeks
