A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered 'potentially serious injuries' in a crash on a major Weymouth road.
A man in his 50s has been injured in a single vehicle crash on the A354 near to the Jurassic roundabout in Weymouth.
The man, from Poole, has been taken to hospital with 'potentially serious injuries'.
The crash caused the Weymouth Relief Road to be closed between the Jurassic roundabout and the Football Ground roundabout at Dorchester while paramedics attended.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 12.54pm to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A354 near to the Jurassic roundabout in Weymouth involving a Kawasaki motorcycle.
"The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s from Poole, sustained potentially serious injuries. The air ambulance attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital by land ambulance. His condition is not described as life-threatening.
"The road was closed between the Jurassic roundabout and the Football Stadium roundabout in Dorchester to allow emergency services to treat the injured rider."
