WEYMOUTH town centre residents are to be given special parking arrangements for the summer.
Dorset Council has arranged for permit holders in some areas, including streets around Weymouth Harbour, Hope Square and The Esplanade, to park in the Pavilion car park until the end of the season.
It comes amid changes around the harbour which could place an additional strain on demand for resident parking, as well as high numbers of visitors expected as people choose to holiday in the UK this summer.

Councillor Ray Bryan, portfolio holder for Highways, Travel and Environment at Dorset Council: “We are expecting a significant increase in visitors to Weymouth over the summer months this year, and understand how this will present a strain on residents’ parking areas, particularly with the current changes around the harbour.
To try and help, Dorset Council has decided that Weymouth Zone F permit holders may use their permits in the Pavilion rear car park if no on-street spaces are available.
This arrangement doesn’t cover the Pavilion forecourt area or on event days when the Pavilion car park may be out of use.
