TWO people were arrested as police swooped on an address in Portland yesterday.

Specialist County Line officers dedicated to tackling drug dealing joined local officers in the raid.

A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Officers from Weymouth & Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team and County Line Team arrested two local persons at an address on Portland-a female for theft, drug possession and failing to appear at court for a previous incident and a male for theft and assaulting an emergency worker.

"Both the male and female were subsequently charged with offences and will both appear before Weymouth Magistrates Court in due course."
