AN EVENTS and marketing company has announced two initiatives to help get business moving.

Dorset-based Marketing West will hold a series of business support seminars, starting on Friday, May 7, with a livestreamed event called Business BounceBack 2021.

Speakers will include TV business news journalist Declan Curry; Tej Parikh, chief economist at the Institute of Directors; West Dorset MP Chris Loder; Nick Gregory of Dorset Growth Hub; the motivational speaker Susannah Brade- Waring; and the entrepreneur, Sarah Ali Choudhury.

Marketing West has also announced the Weymouth and Portland Business Awards, to focus on promoting the range and quality of local businesses. Details are at weyportbusinessawards.co.uk

Nigel Reeve of Marketing West said: “The idea of the bounceback seminar and the awards is to help focus on getting business moving again. The seminar will have advice for businesses, designed to motivate and help, while the business awards won’t be an excuse for a party. They are to promote the range of local businesses we have in Weymouth and Portland.

“It’s part of a series we are running which includes awards in Sherborne, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Dorchester/Poundbury. The demand has been fantastic with close to 400 entries to date across all four.”
