A CARAVAN was targeted in a suspected arson attack and police are appealing for witnesses.
Officers were called to reports of a suspected arson near Cockles Lane in Weymouth on Friday, April 9.
There were also reports that a number of young people were seen running away from the area.
Police have requested that anyone with any information regarding the fire get in touch with them.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "On Friday afternoon, we were called to reports of a suspected arson to a caravan, which was situated in an area of land near to Cockles Lane, Weymouth.
"The fire service were made aware that a group of young people were seen running away from the area at the time. If anyone has any information regarding the fire, please get in touch.
"Enquiries are also in hand to locate the owner of the caravan. Whilst in attendance, there were obvious signs that the area has recently been used for anti-social behaviour. Patrols will continue to prevent further issues."
