BUSINESS bosses in Dorset have spoken of their delight at news of the restaurant investment in Dorchester and Weymouth and said it will be a boost for the region, which has suffered amid the Covid pandemic.
Funkin Fries opens today in South Street, in Dorchester with news another diner will open in Weymouth soon.
Ian Girling, Dorset Chamber chief executive, said: “It's hugely encouraging to see a new enterprise open its doors.
“It will bring a boost with new jobs for Dorchester and give a lift to the town centre.
"A new restaurant for Weymouth would be very welcome news too, especially hot on the heels of the opening of a new Range store in the former Debenhams building.
“The high street of the future is going to look very different and restaurants could play a central role in helping to reinvent our town centres.
“I wish Funkin Fries all the best with their new venture and hope local people with support the new restaurant.”
