A police spokesman said: "Police were called around 9.30pm on Thursday 11 February to reports of a concern for welfare for a woman near the cliffs at Beer.
"Officers attended along with the Coastguard and NPAS police helicopter.
"The body of a female was discovered at the foot of the cliffs.
