FOUR cars were destroyed by fire in the Littlemoor area of Weymouth today.
The incident happened during the early hours of this morning, police say, and residents are being asked to report any suspicious activity in the area of Clayton Close.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 1.38am.
"We were initially told that three vehicles had been set on fire - upon arrival crews found there to be four private vehicles well alight," a spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
"All were completely destroyed by fire. To extinguish the fire, crews used two hose reel jets, two breathing apparatus and one main line with foam."
A spokesman for Weymouth & Portland Police said: "Officers from the Neighbourhood Team have today been making enquiries in the Littlemoor area after several cars were damaged by fire at around 01.30am.
"We would be keen to hear from anyone who might have seen or heard anything suspicious near Clayton Close around that time.
