Hi readers
It’s Emily and William here this week talking Christmas, which is approaching fast.
This week, I, Emily, will put up our Christmas tree while playing Christmas music and eating mince pies!
I, William, have an artificial tree and decorations to go up in my flat, and then will help my parents put up a tree at their house.
Even though Christmas is going to be different this year and maybe a bit difficult for many because of the restrictions, we are still excited.
Things that excite us most include listening to Christmas songs. My, William’s, favourite is Merry Christmas Everyone by Slade as it’s so rock and roll! I, Emily, really enjoy listening to carols and taking part in carol services, which I will be doing this week. We also had an inclusive zoom carol service with Dorchester Baptist Church last week which was great.
I, William, enjoy selling Christmas trees at the garden centre where I work. I like doing this because it feels festive and I enjoy interacting with the public. It’s nice to help them to choose a tree. Although I, Emily, have Christmas day off, I will be working on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. I think I’ll enjoy it even more this year because our residents at the nursing home won’t have visitors like they usually do, so it’s important and nice to help them feel as festive and happy as possible.
Of course we both also look forward to watching some Christmas films and spending time with our families, in our bubbles.
We hope that wherever you are, and whoever you are with, that you have a safe and happy Christmas. We especially think of everyone on their own and hope you have as good a Christmas as possible
