HELLO readers it’s Emily and William here this week. We’ve been going out and about a bit more, and want to share what it’s been like.

First, going out at the moment definitely isn’t the same! However I, Emily, still got dressed up and went out for a meal on my birthday, and again for Dad’s birthday.

What surprised me was that on both occasions they didn’t take any details for track and trace, or take our temperatures. On my birthday we had to wait over an hour for food, but it was nice. Another time I had a meal out, I was impressed as they took my details and temperature. I, William, went to the pub with a friend too. They didn’t take any details or my temperature either. I noticed there was a code to scan when entering but as I don’t have a smart phone I can’t do that.

I, Emily, also went by train to Poole shopping recently. It wasn’t the best train ride as we had to wear masks. For me, the less time wearing a mask the better. When we got to the shopping centre we put our masks on and kept them on until we left. It definitely wasn’t the best shopping experience but it was ok. We managed. I was glad to get back to Dorchester, take the mask off and walk home mask free!

We both wash our hands before eating meals out, and as soon as we get home. We use hand sanitiser in shops and keep a safe distance from others. By the time you read this, Boris Johnson will have announced new rules. We hope that whatever the Government asks us to do, the public will listen and help stop the spread of Covid. We hope you stay safe and well.
