IT’S Emily and William here this week writing about our favourite scenes from old films. We were thinking about those films where we have strong memories of a particular scene, and thought we’d share with you some of the ones we like best.

One of my, William’s, favourite films in Grease. I especially love it when they perform the songs Grease Lightning and Beauty School Dropout. A favourite scene has to be the one with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, right at the end, when she arrives at the funfair looking beautiful in a cool leather outfit and smoking. It’s a fantastic scene and his face hits the floor!

More good ones are from The Italian Job, like the chase between the Minis, and the other scene when they blow up a car and Michael Caine says ‘you’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!’. I also love the scene when the coach is hanging on the edge of the cliff.

As for me Emily, I love it in Mamma Mia 2 when Cher arrives in the helicopter and blasts out that song. It’s fantastic! My favourite film has to be ‘The Holiday’ with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black. I can’t even describe why I love it so much, I just do. There’s not even a particular scene I love, it’s more I like the idea of doing a house swap like that, especially if the houses are as lovely as theirs! I wouldn’t turn up somewhere snowy in high heels like she does!

We hope our article this week has brought back some memories for you of great scenes in films. I think over the winter we are going to be watching a bit more, and it’s got us thinking about good films we want to watch!
