BOMB disposal experts were called after a diver found an unexploded shell on the sea bed.
Swanage Coastguard had been called to Shell Bay at Studland due to concerns that a diver had gone missing.
When they found him he presented them with the piece of ordnance he had found.
The team was called out just before 4pm yesterday.
Part of the beach at Shell Bay was cordoned off to allow for the bomb disposal team to deal with the item.
