A former restaurant near Weymouth railway station is to become an part of the adjoining hotel.
Dorset Council has approved the change of use for the former Handmade Pie & Ale House in Queen Street to become an annexe of the next-door seven-room Somerset Hotel.
The original proposal was for six rooms but this changed during the consultation process to three rooms on the first floor and a lounge and toilets on the ground floor.
A report says that the changes came about because of Environmental Agency concerns about flood risk.
Weymouth Town Council had raised no objection to the change of use and there had been one public letter of support.
Both properties are in the same ownership.
