A NEW tourism website for Dorset has been launched to help businesses get the most out of the 2012 Olympics.
More than 25 representatives from the tourism sector met at Poundbury Garden Centre to find out more about The World Heritage Coast Hospitality Association (WHCHA) website, which will be online by the end of the month.
Businesses will be able to promote themselves through the website, www.jurassic-experience.co.uk which is designed to provide accessible information to tourists.
John Varley from the WHCHA said: "Our intention with this new website is to help the visitor to the area find out all that it has to offer in terms of attractions, where to stay, where to eat and things to do.
"We have the Jurassic Coast and the World Heritage Coast and we want to capitalise on that, particularly with the sailing events coming here in 2012. There is going to be so much interest in the area we would like people to be able to focus in and see what it has to offer to the visitor."
Tourism business adviser from the Dorset New Forest Tourism Partnership Bill Seward said: "We have got a World Heritage Coast and you can't get better than that. We've also got the advent of the 2012 games, and you can't get a bigger sporting event than that.
"What we need is a compatible business structure - a world class business structure."
