MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Melcombe Regis have done it again, holding another stellar fundraising effort in support of good causes.
Rotarian Mike Parker held a charity collection over the festive period at the Tesco store at St Thomas Street in Weymouth town centre.
Half of the money raised is going to Diabetes UK, which is the Tesco store’s nominated charity.
The other half will be going to towards Melcombe Regis Rotary’s fund for local charities.
Following the collection, Graham Morrison, president of Melcombe Regis Rotary Club presented a cheque to Pat Bates, Tesco community champion.
Mr Morrison said: “I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to Pat and all the staff at the Tesco Weymouth store for their ongoing support of Rotary fundraising efforts.
I would also like to thank all those Tesco customers who donated, and to Rotarian Mike Parker for organising the collection.
“The Rotary Club of Melcombe Regis will be identifying further local worthy causes to support and work with in the future.”
