Wessex Water say the sewage protection scheme being planned for the Great Field in Dorchester will cost £1.2 million.
The project, to installed a 10-metre long pumped tank underground, off St John Way, will be the subject of two meetings at Poundbury.
One, by invitation only, takes place tonight with another meeting, a public drop in session, being held next Tuesday, December 10at The Quiet Space in Poundbury. Wessex Water will be there from 10am to 7pm.
The company say they are hoping to start work on the project, which could last six months, on January 6.
