Areas of Weymouth were left underwater following heavy downpours last night.
Custom House Quay was flooded under the town bridge this morning.
It came after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain.
The warning remained in place until 12pm today.
The flooding is said to be a result of heavy rain, strong winds and high spring tides.
Forecasters have warned that spray and flooding on roads would make journey times longer and bus and train services were likely to be affected.
Some motorists decided to brave the flood water by driving through it, while others turned away and found alternative routes.
The west Dorset coast was also on flood alert on Tuesday night.
The Environment Agency warned residents to expect flooding on roads and farmland.
The organisation also said there was a chance of flooding in Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seaton, West Bay, Bothenhampton, Burton Freshwater, Burton Bradstock, Cogdean Beach, Chesil Beach, West Fleet, East Fleet, Chiswell and Portland Harbour.
