Police officers are investigating after seven vehicles were damaged in a vandalism spree in Dorchester over the weekend.

On several occasions ball bearings were found at the scene.

Over the weekend of Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24, Dorset Police received seven reports of criminal damage to vehicle windows in the town.

The roads where the incidents occurred included Cambridge Road, Alice Road, Windsor Road, Baynards Road, Manor Road and Stinsford View.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Neighbourhood Inspector Darren Stanton, of Dorchester police, said: “We appreciate the inconvenience incidents like this cause to owners. We are carrying out an investigation to identify those responsible and will be stepping up patrols in the areas affected.

“These incidents are believed to have occurred during the evenings and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the areas mentioned over the weekend to please contact us. I would also like to hear from anyone with any further information that can assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would urge anyone whose property has been targeted and has not already reported the matter to us to please get in touch.”
