The annual Dorchester Christmas Cracker event will return to the town this year as hundreds of people are expected to line the streets to witness the lighting-up parade.

Taking place on Thursday, December 5, the lights will be switched on by special guests at 6.30pm, outside St Peter’s Church in High West Street.

To mark the event, Brewery Square will be hosting a lantern parade at 6pm, which will be led by Town Crier Alistair Chisholm, and finish at St Peter’s Church in time for the light illumination.

In association with the occasion, Brewery Square has also announced that tickets for Skating In The Square will be discounted by 30% on the day. Many of Brewery Square’s stores will also stay open until 7pm, as part of the late-night shopping event, which will occur every Thursday in December.
