ALLOTMENT charges in Dorchester could rise next year – but only by a small amount.
Rent and water charges for the town council’s 331 full and half-plot sites are expected to go up by £2 for the year.
For a typical plot holder this will mean a rise from £26.50 for the year to £28.50, while those who have a full plot will see their charges go from £44.50 to £46.50. The council £50 administration fee for new tenants will remain unchanged.
The council ran its allotments at a loss of £2,900 for the last financial year.
