One of the world's greatest windsurfers is coming to Portland to teach his craft next month.

Ross Williams, a multiple world championship-winning windsurfer from the Isle of Wight, will be hosting a winter slalom series at the Official Test Centre on Portland's Osprey Quay on December 7 and 8.

In this workshop, you can learn which techniques are required and what goes through Ross' head while negotiating his way around a slalom course.

The only windsurfing skill you need to take part is the ability to carve gybe, which is a method of turning.

The Winter Slalom series will include slalom core skills training. All abilities are welcome. It doesn’t matter if you are just setting out on your slalom journey or you are at an advanced level, this event is inclusive to all and everyone taking part will be supported at the individual level they require.

Ross will teach you all about kit set up, race starts, mark rounding, tactics and core skills. These insights into how Ross applies his craft in this discipline, his professionalism and commitment will give you a real opportunity to take your slalom skills to the next level.

If you would like to take part in this event, it starts at 10am on both days and kit is included in the £45 charge for one day and £70 charge for two days. Contact the centre on 01305 230296 to book your place.
