An information sign about Portland Museum is being requested for a site in Church Ope Road.
The white and blue sign, 1.8metres high by 0.6m, will explain the history of the area and highlight the museum.
A planning application asks for it to be put up close to the footpath at the Wakeham/Church Ope Road junction adjacent to the stone entrance to gatehouse and lodges at Pennsylvania Castle.
Comments on the application remain open until December 8.
