WORK on a corporate plan for Dorchester Town Council has been suspended because of the December 12th General Election.
The council say the next phase would have been a public consultation, but that will now be considered in the New Year.
A report to town councillors said that the relationship with Dorset Council is ‘critical’ to the delivery of the town plan and will be guided by three exercises currently underway at the unitary council – work on its own corporate plan; discussions with town and parish councils on how they work together, and a review of discretionary grants for community groups, with an option which suggests cuts to the overall budget and a reduction in the scope for making grants.
