A dramatic fire at Piddletrenthide has destroyed a large forklift 'telehandler' vehicle
Firefighting crews from Dorchester tackled the blaze, which also affected overhead telephone lines.
According to the fire brigade there is no known cause of the fire.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at 2.22pm yesterday after it was reported that there was a fire on Drakes Lane, Piddletrenthide.
"Two crews from Dorchester attended the incident and two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire," the spokesman added.
"The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire and no cause has been recorded on the log.
"No persons injured but it did affect some overhead phone lines so crews requested the attendance of BT."
