Excitement is building for the return of Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week this Saturday.
Special guest actor John Challis, who played Boycie in the BBC hit TV series ‘Only Fools and Horses’ will officially open the popular event.
All the old favourites will return, including the bathtub race, tug of war across the harbour mouth and the Army parachute display by The Red Devils.
One new attraction this year is a singalong version of the film ‘Mamma Mia!’ being screened at the Marine Theatre. This also includes a competition for the best Abba adult and child outfit.
The annual event on average raises between £30,000 and £35,000 and is organised by local RNLI fundraisers, the Lyme Regis and Charmouth Lifeboat Supporters, with help from the lifeboat crew.
For more information, search for Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week on Facebook.
To find out more about the events and timings, pick up a programme from the lifeboat shop on the Cobb or from outlets around the town.
