Two organisations have joined forces to offer backing to Weymouth and Portland Pride.
A new partnership of Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park and Weymouth College will support 'Pride by the Seaside'.
Students from the college went to the aquarium to find inspiration for a sea creature themed entry for the Pride parade.
Julia Cohen from Weymouth College said: "The students were particularly drawn to the seals, the Fairy Penguins and the colourful jellyfish display.
"It’s been great to see all the sea creatures up close, and it has given them lots of new creative ideas for the Pride Parade.
"They’ve also discussed using recycled materials and avoiding using balloons to ensure their creations are environmentally responsible.
"Many of our students are part of the LGBT+ community, and so we wanted to help support and promote their visibility.
"It’s great to be working with Weymouth SEA LIFE to make it happen.”
The inaugural Weymouth and Portland Pride will take place from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28, and will feature a range of activities and events for all the family.
Tamsin Mutton-McKnight, Weymouth SEA LIFE General Manager, said: “We are really excited to be supporting the first ever Weymouth & Portland Pride event and the Weymouth College parade entry this summer.
"The teams are working really hard to create a new inclusive and diverse family event here in Weymouth for the whole community to enjoy and we’re looking forward to being a part of the celebrations.”
