Fire crews were called out after a car caught fire at Chesil Beach car park.
A spokesman for the fire service said they were alerted to the blaze by a member of the public who dialled 999.
"A car was severely damaged by fire", they said.
"The call came in at 7.48 yesterday evening.
"Compressed air foam and a hose reel jet were used.
"The fire had stopped at 8.04pm."
