DORSET'S Camp Bestival is blasting off this summer with a host of space-based entertainment.

The family-friendly festival, to be held at Lulworth Castle from July 28-31, has an Outer Space them this year.

The Royal Albert Hall’s resident Education & Outreach orchestra, Albert’s Band, will take fans on a "musical journey" with a 'Space Symphony'.

The Mission Control tent will play host to a selection of celestial thrills including the National Space Centre team who will be on hand presenting exciting challenges and intriguing facts.

Families can witness science experiments, learn about the universe and join a 'mission to Mars' with The Science Museum while people can quiz the stargazing experts from the Royal Observatory Greenwich, and be inspired by the Explorer Dome's ‘The Wonder of Space’.

Stage stars this year include Fatboy Slim, Tears for Fears, Jess Glynne, Dick and Dom, and Mr Tumble.

Festival founder Rob da Bank said: “Our creative crew have hit escape velocity, filling our brand new Mission Control tent with some seriously spacey goings on.

"From Albert’s Band blasting us off into a supernova of sound on the Castle Stage and the intriguing Wonders of Space to the Urban Astronaut and Cosmic Crafts, not forgetting all the rocket building in between, we’re almost set for lift off."
