SINGER-SONGWRITER Billy Bragg has agreed to help a local business in its efforts to support Nepal earthquake victims.
Staff from the Hive Beach Cafe at Burton Bradstock and its sister business, the Watch House Cafe in West Bay, are organising Wine and Dine for Nepal on Friday, May 8 from 6pm-8pm.
There will be a fish and chip supper at Hive Beach Cafe and a pizza evening at the Watch House, both with live music.
Guests are urged to dig deep and pay what they think the meal is worth.
Staff fare volunteering their time and suppliers have generously donated the food and drink to be served on the night.
The Hive Beach Company says it will will donate all profits from the evening to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Music will be provided by Billy Bragg, who lives locally and has agreed to do guest slots at both venues to support the fundraiser. Also playing will be local musician David Powell, a member of the Bride Valley Band, who will be playing traditional English tunes.
Café owner Steve Attrill said: “Our diners will be able to donate money, listen to some great music and enjoy a delicious supper.
"Donations will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee to help provide shelter for the homeless and food water and essential items to those who have lost everything."
He added: "We wanted to do our bit to help and have been overwhelmed with the goodwill and response from our staff, suppliers and friends of the Hive and Watch House.”
There will be no reservations - it will work on a first come-first served basis.
