A FAMILY from Weymouth celebrated the arrival of a bundle of joy as their first grandchild, Isaac Dean Mattravers, was born at 1.59am on December 28 weighing 7lbs 10 oz. First-time grandparents Shirley and Martin Ryan, who own the Mirari shop in Dorchester, said they were overjoyed. Mrs Ryan said the timing of the birth was a surprise for parents Emily and Dean Mattravers.
“They came over for Christmas and left on Booking Day and three hours later Emily’s waters broke. Isaac was three weeks early but he was a bit of a blessing because he was an IVF pregnancy. “ She added: “It’s wonderful to be a grandma, Isaac is practically perfect – he’s very sweet and cuddly. He’s been very good so his mum has been lucky.
“Isaac has definitely been fussed over. His other grandfather even came down from Scotland to visit him.
The family thanked all the staff at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, along with Wessex Fertility Clinic in Southampton.
