A HANDBAG has been reported stolen after being left in an unattended vehicle in Dorchester.

The theft occurred between 2.30pm and 3.30pm in Maiden Castle car park earlier today. 

The vehicle's front window was smashed to allow the offender to gain entry. The victim's handbag was then taken.

The handbag was handmade by the victim. It is described as having one shoulder strap and is a green army style bag with a small amount of red velvet on it.

Dorset Police is advising members of the public to take all valuables out of their cars when leaving them unattended.
