A couple who first met at a Weymouth infant school have celebrated their engagement and are now hoping pop star Gary Barlow will sing ‘A Million Love Songs’ at their wedding.
Take That fans Nick Simkin and Shelli Payne, both 28, grew up in Weymouth and all their families still live there.
They have now entered Gary Barlow’s competition offering a surprise appearance at three lucky couple’s weddings.
The pair have been together nearly 11 years and first met when they were at Wyke Regis Infant School. They went to different secondary schools, but met up again when they were both 18 and working at the Waterside Holiday Park.
Miss Payne’s sister Alicia Payne, who lives in Weymouth, said of their campaign: “It’s just a bit of fun and we are really looking forward to the wedding.”
Nick and Shelli are hoping an appearance from Mr Barlow will really make their December wedding ‘Shine’, and have been tweeting him on the social media site with the hashtags #nickandshellidec2015 #garyatthegrand.
Their efforts even caught the attention of the wedding team at Kingston Maurward, who re-tweeted their request.
Although the husband and wife-to-be are currently living in Brighton, they are looking to come ‘Back for Good’ to Weymouth soon.
