HAPPY COUPLE Michael Greenaway and Catherine Owen got married at The Prayerhouse in Weymouth surrounded by over 180 family and friends.
The pair met in 2011 at an evening of worship at The Islanders Club in Portland, and after talking at Minifest, a Weymouth and Portland community church-led project, they became good friends and started dating in the summer of 2012.
Their wedding ceremony was held during the church’s Sunday service and Catherine said many of the wedding guests stayed for a vegetarian bring-and-share lunch afterwards.
She said of her special day: “We wanted people to wear what they like, and so there were smart, casual and fancy-dress outfits. My three young children wanted to wear fancy-dress and Mike and I, along with a few others, wore Steampunk clothing.”
Catherine added her children are happy to have a new father and they all plan to go away on a family holiday this year to celebrate.
