REGGAE music and Caribbean food will be on offer at a free event in Dorchester to celebrate Black History Month.
The Corn Exchange is hosting the event on Saturday, October 11, which will include a screening of the classic film Cool Runnings from 3pm followed by music, poetry, food and other entertainment from 6pm.
Headlining the music will be Afro Tallawah, pictured right, with their own special fusion of afro-Latin-reggae music.
The event has been organised by the South West Dorset Multicultural Network, with support from West Dorset District Council, Magna Housing Association, Weymouth College and Dorset Healthcare.
David Corbin, equality and diversity manager at Dorset Healthcare, said: “This event of the past years has been key in bringing together a real diversity of communities, young and old to celebrate Black History in Britain.
“With live music, engaging poetry and of course traditional food it is a highlight in the calendar of diversity in Dorset.”
West Dorset District Council community development officer Emma Scott added: “The unique thing about this event is it really is suitable for all ages and families to come along and socialise.”
