A Weymouth gardener got a surprise when he pulled up a carrot with ten toes.
The odd shaped vegetable has one complete carrot and ten ‘toes’ sprouting from it.
Gardener Brian Dunning said he thought the carrot looked a bit like one of the Doctor Who monsters when he unearthed it.
He belongs to Southill Horticultural Society who held a caption competition for it.
He said: “The winning caption was: ‘I was all fingers and thumbs and now I’m all fingers and toes.’”
Mr Dunning said he plans on eating the odd-carrot with his next roast dinner.
This is the second bizarre shaped vegetable the Echo has seen in as many weeks, after gardener Trevor Toogood found a male and female ‘couple’ of carrots lying next to each other in his garden.
