Well done Littlemoor!
This year’s carnival entry won two silver and one bronze certificate for their ‘Littlemoor Rocks’ float. Congratulations to all the volunteers who made this possible, I know a great deal of time and effort went into your entry and you did Littlemoor proud!
And for those who manned the float dressed up as characters from early twentieth century ‘saucy’ postcards a special mention must be made. You looked brilliant.
The Littlemoor Family Fun Day goes from strength to strength and this, the fourth year, it’s fair to say, was better than ever.
The amount of planning and work that goes into making these great afternoons is phenomenal and so, on behalf of all those who enjoyed themselves last Saturday, I’d like to thank everybody who helped make it such a success.
To name each individual would be impossible; those who put in an amazing amount of time and effort know who they are and we’re all grateful that you give up your spare time to organise such a great community event.
Here’s looking forwards to next year.
Can you play chess?
Would you like to learn or maybe help to teach others?
You’re never too young or old to take up this fascinating ancient board game and it exercises the mind like no other.
Two keen local chess players would like to start up a chess club. If you are interested please contact me.
A reminder to all those who took up this year’s summer reading challenge: the last day to complete your six books is getting close. All entries should be handed in to the library by the 6th September.
