Created by Bridport-based writer Chris Chibnall, the crime drama was a huge hit on our television screens, averaging more than nine million viewers as the country tuned in to find out who killed Danny Latimer.
To celebrate the launch of the channel and the re-showing of Broadchurch, David Tennant and Olivia Colman have also both given a video interview.
Filmed with ITV, the interview will be shown over five parts and shows both Tennant, who played DI Alec Hardy and Colman, who played DS Ellie Miller, talk about the first series, why they love it and why they think the show was so well received by the nation.
During the interview, Tennant said: “I defy you not to be gripped by it (the show), because we all were when the scripts were coming out.
“I was very honoured to be a part of this cast.”
Colman added: “It’s gripping, it’s upsetting and you get sucked into it.”
Broadchurch fever is again gripping the nation, following the news of the star-studded cast and that filming has started for the show’s second series.
