A WEYMOUTH sailor is celebrating after graduating as a weapons engineer.
Former Weymouth College student Engineering Technician (Weapon Engineer) James Jarvie recently graduated from HMS Collingwood as he completed his phase two training with Victory Squadron.
The 25-year-old joined the Royal Navy in September last year. Following his graduation, he is now looking forward to joining his first ship HMS Daring.
He said: “I’ve always been interested in the Navy.
“This coupled with no job opportunities where I live made joining up a very simple decision.
“I’ve enjoyed my time here and I look forward to seeing new places and learning new things throughout my naval career.” The keen football and rugby fan also helped with the Navy’s support of local communities who suffered flooding during the recent storms.
