YOUNGSTERS are being urged to find their voice as a new singing school strikes a chord in Dorchester.
Vocademy already runs singing classes at studios across Sussex, Hampshire, Birmingham and Kent and is now brining its courses to the county town.
Free taster sessions will be opening from May 1 at Dorchester Arts Centre.
Vocademy manager Sam Black said: “Our students love the classes that we run and we see such a transformation in them at the end of the courses.
“As well as becoming better performers, they become more confident in themselves.
“A lot of the students stay with us term after term.
“The free sessions will give the pupils the chance to dip their toe in the water and see if they enjoy singing.
“If they want to join us for regular lessons afterwards that would be great. If they just want to enjoy the taster session then that is great too.
“We just want to get more children singing and enjoying themselves with music.”
Vocademy was set up by Damian Keyes, one of the founders of Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM), five years ago and runs courses with qualified teachers for children aged seven to 18.
