A DORCHESTER midwife has welcomed a second bundle of joy into the family Rosie and Simon Christophers live in Dorchester.
Simon works for Sunseeker and Rosie is a midwife at Dorset County Hospital. She thanked all the maternity team at the hospital and especially friend and colleague Carly Smith, who delivered her second baby Owen David back in December.
He weighed 7olbs 13oz and is eating and sleeping well.
Rosie said that although she is a midwife, it was a totally different experience going in herself.
She said: “It was totally different and I just think when you do it yourself you forget everything, you become a mum rather than a midwife.”
She said it was quite good to have the knowledge about what was happening and it was lovely to go in and be met by all her friends.
Owen’s big sister, Holly, four, absolutely adores her baby brother.
Rosie said: “She’s lovely, she absolutely loves him to bits, she’s very maternal with him and absolutely loves him.
“She is his favourite and he smiles when he hears her voice.”
She added: “It’s lovely watching them together.”
Owen is doing well and is a happy and relaxed baby, the family said.
Rosie added: “He’s a very happy baby – he’s well entertained by his big sister. He’s really happy, he just sits looking round smiling.”
The family would also like to give a big thank you to all their family and friends and especially their parents.
